I'll second that on the cheap gas! I won't feel so bad if I do not get my 5 speed in by then. I still get about 22 mpg on the highway, about 14 around town with the 3 speed. I will have my stash of cars with me on Friday and will let my wife bring the parts down if anybody needs anything on Friday night. My New Jersey trip starting the next Monday has been cancelled so I think I am going to book me a room for Saturday night as well. The clan will most likely head back Saturday night though.

For anyone that needs them, I have a set of (AutoKrafter type) quarter panels in the back of my truck that will stay there for the trip. price is $300. I will be going to Opelika, AL from the 27th to around the 2nd, then to Bradenton, FL from the 2nd to the 9th. Then of course the show in Ocala on Saturday the 10th. AK wants $190 ea plus shipping. I'll take $300 for the pair.

NPD usually has areas to be set aside for the different models, such as Falcons, Mavericks, Cougars, etc. IF the parties get there early enough to start filling the area.

The Cougars usually meet outside the gate and for the most part, come in together on Sat. How are the Mavs/Comets going to do it? Come in together or have someone come in VERY early to reserve the area?

Last year, my son and I got there before 7Am and there were already lots of cars there. The Cougars are meeting at 7AM over by the WalMart.

    Any ideas?

    Jim,

For the past two years I have stayed in Ocala and got to SS about 730-45am and parked with the Mavs/Comets with no problem. Some of them were ahead of me and went through registration, which always splits everyone up, and then they grouped back together in the main parking area after crossing the little bridge. That at least got a lot of them together. I plan on doing the same this year. Jim, are you still looking for a hood emblem? I am totally out of Mav gas caps, sorry. I do have several Comet hood lip mouldings in various conditions if interested.

Side note: Fred I have only 3 spoiler hold downs and only one has a nut on it. I was unable to find the fourth one, I put them in my car today. Are you and Dana going to need help getting your cars in?? Also I decided I am staying through Sunday, so if you need help on Sunday as well Fred, I am available.

if i counted right it looks like 9 cars just from this board are coming. add CAMEO to that and we should have a good showing this year.

Was glad to see everyone again and meet a few new faces as well! Trip went well, weather was great, what can you say awesome turnout, 16 Mavericks and Comets all in one spot! All 3 verisions of the 72 Sprints, Pinto, Mustang, and Maverick, Photo-op if ever there was one!
If everything Frank does (71GOLD) goes as well as it did for him this weekend, it's a wonder he can get anything done right! And I am sure it is not Effie's fault!

    FFR

By the way, I got to drive home the last 5 miles, out of 125, with no clutch pedal, seems I have bent, broken or cracked my z-bar, any spares anyone???

    richard

p.s. Hi to Holly and Rocky, Morgan and his dad, Jason, Gwen and Becca, Frank and Effie, Jeff, Ken, Jim, Ray and your wife, Fred and Dana, sorry if I missed someone! It was a grand time, hope we don't have to wait 12 months to see each other all again!
