    Matter of fact it was in the 80's when I was doing this. I agree I wouldn't do this to a Maverick but a Comet is a different story :rolleyes:. I too will have wide tires again once I'm back on the road. Tell us where you got those tires..
    I actually thought about putting a piece of stainless to eliminate the rock chips. I bet I have a few before that happens though lol.

    In mexico it's still rather easy to find tires for 14" wheels.
    Unlike here in the states.

    I ran 15x10" rims on mine for years w/ a 28 x10" tire (actual measurements" and it was tucked up in the quarter and nothing rubbed.

    Tires get skinnier when they are spinning at 10k rpm lol. There's my hood! :cool:

    Can't you shorten the reared? Take off about 5 inches on each side or whatever it is and tuck the tires in..you can also trim about a quarter in from the lip of the wheel opening or roll it to avoid sharp edges ...unless your going for that 80s look

    yep...that's the way to do it..buy the tires and rims you like and...cut the car up to fit them...:rofl2:

    I love how many builds you can make of this awesome car. Makes me want to get more someday and try some of the great builds I am seeing.

    The tires came with the wheels.
    It was a good deal. But Maybe I gonna cut the wheel to 9".

    And now It have rock chips:( where It didn't have it.

    My mav it's a daily driver.

    Before I buy these wheels. I wanted to buy 15x8" with 275/50/r15 and fit well. But when I see the negative offset of my wheels I loved it and bought inmediately.

    Wow....that is really "Jacked Up" in the rear. What are you using to jack up the rear end of that car?


    Here is my car. 14 x 8 with a reverse offset (deep dish). NO AIR SHOCKS. 4 leaf rear springs, one coil cut off of brand new front springs.

    Very nice fitment. Exactly what size are your rear tires? I don't have my leaf springs anymore so I have even more room to fit a 10 inch rim :)
