  • I bought this Maverick, off ebay USA , from Steve Dennish, owner of Limeworks speedshop, CA. It was being used by his son, who wished to sell it in order to concentrate on his Mk 1 Ford Cortina project. I imported the car into the UK in June, 2016, needles to say it needed a lot of work to bring it up to UK safety standards, as have all of my imports. The car was modified from a 6cyl, to a 302 of unknown origin, but it seems quite quick, with its modified heads, roller rockers, hedman and flowmasters, yet retains a 2bbl Holley. The large bumpers were swapped for early model ones, along with a new front panel and early grille .There was no heater to speak of, controls missing, wiper linkage shot, suspension and steering bushes shot, but it showed very little rust beneath its worn out, badly applied repaint. Some of the electrics were bad, the interior poor and the engine bay very scruffy, but again, totally rust free. I fitted V8 mustang front springs, with shelby drop and one coil cut to raise the front, (the crossmember was badly hit , it had to come up). It will eventually get a repaint, but I am happy to drive it as is, but the interior will be my priority, along with getting the slop out of the steering, which no longer is power assisted unfortunately
I will keep the 14" magnum 500's, but may get the rear widened by 2"
