Will a 4.9L from F100 fit in a "73?

    Will a 300ci 4.9L from a 69 ford f100 fit into a '73 maverick? I already have a I6 (I'm not exactly sure of the size of due to being 3rd owner) in there that I'm having issues with and this looks to be a cheaper route rather than getting it rebuilt or overhauled.

    It can be done but just about every aspect of this swap screams fabrication... The 300(which AFAIK never came in a 69 F100) is longer, taller and a couple hundred pounds heavier than the small sixes... Nothing just bolts in place, will require custom motor mounts, larger radiator, custom exhaust work and about 14 other etc... Plus when you get it in there the hood probably isn't gonna shut...

    sometimes a 5.0 swap is just about a cheap as a 250 rebuild...:yup:
