Power steering pump

    Has anybody had any success finding a modern power steering pump replacement for the old Ford/Thompson type pump? I'm thinking pick and pull with minor modifications to make it fit... Looks like the originals are getting hard to find. Local parts stores (Autozone, Advance etc.) are saying "not in stock or no longer available".

    Try searching Borgeson upgrade. That seems to be a good option. Plenty of info with a quick search. Good luck.

    I'm cheap and don't want to put out the bucks for a Borgeson. I was looking on eBay for a rebuilt pump and started thinking about going to the junkyard and finding something I could make fit.

    You could do a Saginaw pump conversion. Search Google for SBF conversion brackets.

    If you have your old pump, Rode's Restorations in Galion, Ohio can rebuild it.
