Is there a Mustang gas tank that will swap into a 72 Maverick? Mine was sealed but it is still driping and the fuel sending unit is dead. I know you can get new Mustang tanks all day long. Which one fits?

Why reinvent the wheel when you can buy a new Maverick tank that fits by using longer strap bolts

I found a thread on the new gas tanks from Amazon. Seems like a good deal.

There is a thread on here with a tech article on how to convert to a Mustang tank.

I think I tried it but it was dead. It would be nice to know what Mustang tank fits.

What about the "Spectra Preminum F30, it's for a 76 Mavericks".

The Spectra tank is the easiest swap just need longer strap bolts. I installed a 19gl 69 mustang tank in mine, I had to relocate the straps to line up with the mustang tank.

What about the fuel sending unit and the other various hardware for the new tank?

I got the vent valve and grommet from a later model gas tank (you can get them new). got a new early Mustang sending unit off e bay. the longer strap bolts came from Ace Hardware.
