I put a new PST front end under my 73.. With the new shocks front and back, the rear shocks brought the rear down a couple of inches.. Leaving the ride height around 5 inches on the rear and 6 1/2 on the front.. With all my research on the Interweb, I have found no drop spindles anywhere.. Am I missing it somewhere or do they not make them.. Thanks again guy's
I was thinking...shocks...have nothing to do with ride height... coil and leaf springs can change height... has the front end had time to settle?
Mainly depends on the rear springs. Nitrogen charged shocks have shipping straps on them for a reason. Otherwise they extend out fairly quickly due to the charges pressure. This why installing new nitrogen filled strut cartridges on the back of an older car jacks them up a fair bit as if the springs were also changed. Even factoring in some loss of true height change perception by the OP.. it sure seems odd that this car was lowered even close to that much. Maybe the old ones were nitrogen filled and the newer shocks are just cheaper oil filled shocks that allowed the car to come back down a bit?
