I'm missing a hood latch in my Maverick parts and just curious what else will fit? I had a green 73 Comet years back, but cant remember, was twenty years ago I guess... Will a Mustang or Granada or something else fit? I know a guy that has many early mustangs and a few other fords for parts... Thanks:)

Mustangs have the hood latch attached to the core support, Mavericks and Comets have the latch attached to the hood. I don't know why Ford did it that way I am so tired of leaving scalp all over the Maverick latch.

You could always loose the latch and use hood pins

I studied about that... Would like locking or something really secure... And stainless,I seriously hate rust... I had some years ago,and the little wire tethers would scratch and rusted up... Hmmm...

You know there used to be,but exhaustive searching for donors so far haven't gone well. Found two so far but they were stripped pretty much. I guess
I'm gonna have to buy a car to get some stuff I'll need. Still kinda upset about the front bumper for the car,was supposed to have one but not in hand yet. Guy I got it from keeps being evasive about it. Several other pieces missing that makes me think mine was a parts car in years gone by,and PO's kept piecing it back together. None of the U-pull-it yards keep anything this age anymore so will keep looking...

I hear ya... I'm 100% positive he'll be hearing from me before this project is done. Right now I'm working on a disc brake swap I think y'all may like :stirthepot: ... But on the original question, think I'm gonna go for a latch and pins ;). Thanks
