    Thanks!
I’m pretty excited to get back after it as soon as this GARBAGE weather subsides! Lol

Like I mentioned, I was fortunate enough to find one this rust free to begin with, and at that price, but it’s like a builders/ Fabricators DREAM to find one that’s gutted, no drive-train, no interior, at basically a super clean rust free canvas to do anything I can possibly imagine!

I do have a question though... This is/was originally a V8 Grabber, just a 1974, so with that, I’ve never had a motor or trans in or out of this space...
I assume being it a V8 car, it’s a must to use the stock cast exhaust manifolds, simply because there wouldn’t be room for anything else... Is that correct?

Okay, for sake of conversation, let’s say that IS true, now, By taking a rough measurement, it would be the spring/ shock towers that make it crazy narrow....

Do you know, or have you heard of anyone who has swapped out the shock towers and suspension for a set from a mid 60’s Mustang being the framework and front clip (aside from sheet metal of course) are identical because the distance between towers is SO much more than the Maverick?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

Lots of cars use headers w/ stock towers, both long and shorties. I have long on my car at present , but have Heddman shorties soon as weather improves.

that’s with a 302? I’m ultimately surprised that a 302 fits with even the cast manifolds, much less with any style header to be honest... I have to take your word for it being I’ve never done an install or removal on a Maverick, however, I had actually asked about tower swapping because I’m going to need all the room I can get, and would still like to maintain the “factory” appearance if I can, but I’m going to shoehorn a 4.6L Quad cam Coyote motor in it from a Cobra... close to the width of a big block, just considerably lighter and severely reliable...

If you are going with a newer engine why concern yourself with factory appearing sheet metal under the hood? At that point you might consider the AJE setup or one of the many Mustang 2 style front suspensions.

OK! My bad! Guess I should have read entire thread. Don't know how you going get mod motor in w/ any amount of original shock tower left. The few I have seen, until now, had something like Rod & Custom 107 conversion. How will Mod motor have any stock appearance? Once that's done, OE appearance gone.

Don't know what happen the first time I did this post. Did not come out like it was supposed to. Did it from my tablet, won't use it again.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for... I’m not at all concerned about the appearance under the hood so much as not knowing what’s out there to replace it all with ... again, unfamiliar with what is available.... was the original pourpose of the thread...

Makes sense. There's getting to be more available as these cars gain in popularity. If I was looking at replacing mine I would look seriously at the AJE setup, it uses a lot of OEM stuff so replacement parts are readily available.

Where would I look too see what’s all available? I just did a search for AJE, and didn’t come up with nothing that looked in the same ballpark as what we’re looking for....
is this a suspension company or fabricators on front end frame type components?
