Hello everyone! Just joined today. I have a 1971 Maverick that I purchased in 2011. Car is original with a 302 and factory A/C, only with 42,000 miles. Back in the end of 2011 I had someone doing the body work and unfortunately he stopped 3/4 of the way thru......typical body guy doing a side job hahaha. Well I haven't touched the car since but now I will be starting to get back to it. Glad to be a member of this forum! Can anyone help me find a picture of a Maverick that has been restored to the orginal color as mine? My car is a 71 and Color code "S" from what I gather it's called Gray Gold. Thanks.
Hello and welcome, sounds like you have good foundation to start with low mileage, v8 and A/C . We have heard the story about body men starting a car and never finishing it several times before, hopefully you got all the parts back for it as sometimes the car is all tore apart and pieces are missing and it can be a daunting task finding parts sometimes not to mention expensive. Have fun with your project
Glad to see you here ……………. it was nice talking with you on the phone today ……………. Hopefully someone will post a picture of the 1971 Maverick "S" code "grey gold" so you can see what it looked like when new. I found this picture of a '71 Ranchero - has to be close.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP YESTERDAY! AND YES THAT DOES LOOK VERY CLOSE. THIS COLOR IS STARTING TO GROW ON ME. HOPE I CAN FIND A MAVERICK PIC IN THIS COLOR
I think I finally found a picture of the 71 "S" Code Gray Gold Metallic color. here is a picture of a 71 Torino and in the description of the car it mentions it was the Ford Gray Gold. What do you guys think? https://www.mecum.com/lots/DA1116-272736/1971-ford-torino-gt/
