The biggest question is does anyone know if this kit will fit the Mavericks? I know the auction states it will.....but.........we alll know how that goes. Anyone who has just rebuilt their suspension may be able to compare their components to the ones in this kit and verify if they are remotely the same. This is from Laurel Mountain Mustangs on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140090342936&fromMakeTrack=true I have done the search thing and also read up on it quite a bit and I feel this kit will in fact work. I am just needing some opinions and suggestions. I am moving in June and I am trying to get the front end rebuilt before moving. (The car pulls the steering wheel like a billy goat and I have to constantly fight the wheel when I drive) I have checked the air in the tires and all the preliminary checks that would cause pulling and my determination is a totallly worn out suspension. 1. I noticed the A-arms in the picture shows a 3 rivet balljoint and the other one shows a 4 rivet ball joint. What is that about? 2. Is anyone using this on their car? 3. Does the price seem fair?
This should work for your car, order for a 70 Mustang. Ford used 4-bolt ball joints up until 1970, some 69 1/2 Mavericks have them.
Would the 4 bolt version not be stronger? Just wondering. Because you can use 4 bolt arms and joints on a car that originally had 3 bolt parts.
Have you ever broken a bolt on the ball joint? I don't think it makes a difference, other than the cost to Ford when they were building them.
I read that the four bolt/rivet upper control arms were prone to cracking, that is why ford switched to the three bolt/rivet ones in or around 71.
Hey! I saw you on Hurlbert today! Edit: I was driving one of these: (and I was craning my head to look at your Mav, not your ugly mug!)
Cool! To bad you didn't have the Sprint with you I would have stopped then Do you come on Hurby often? I didn't notice you craning your head, I get some many looks from people when i'm in the car. Either there are a lot of Mav admirers or they can't believe someone would drive a car that is four different colors and has mismatched wheels.
