I have a hood scoop as you can see from my aviator. I am planning on cutting a hole in the hood so I can get better air intake. Is there some kind of screen I have to buy that I should cut to size? Or do they or someone have a screen for a gt? The size of my scoop may be different it came off of a 66 mustang, so I was told.

    Thanks,

    Robert

Its hard to tell buy your pic what scoop you have but it looks like a comet GT scoop or a early 5.0 gt scoop. As for screens that`s somthing youll have to make those scoops didn`t have them.

Also, on another note, the Comet GTs did not have holes in the hoods;aka, the scoots were non functioning scoops.

I make all my scoops functional and never put a screen in. It would only keep out small sparrows anyway.

I think the point has been made, but I will also say I don't use a screen either.
You'll know that you are getting more air by the fact you will need to replace the filter twice as often...

B429 scoops are very distinctive in shape and rather large when put on a small car like a Mav.

It is hard to tell from the avitar what it is, but I think he has a much more subdued scoop from an early 80s Stang/Capri.
I would say Comet/Eliminator/Cyclone, but it doesn't appear to fit the hood as well as those did.

    Boss 429 style:

    Edit: Found a bigger pic.
I am stumped. It looks like a Comet scoop, but doesn't. Maybe it's just the angle of the pic throwing me off.
It is not a Stang/Capri scoop. Those are very angular.

That looks like a 69 eliminater scoop off a couger. I`m going to get arguements on this but check the # on it to see if it is a c9w and no other numbers there like the comet scoops have.It is a couger scoop that looks like a comet scoop but there thinner at the back. I have had a few

Makes sense, the 429 scoop does look bigger, the guy I bought my 72 from said that the scoop was a 429 boss but now that looking at the pictures it does look like the cougar eliminator scoop, he also said that the rear taillights that came with the vehicle was from a cougar, here's my numbers, there's a crap load on the back of them, excuse my numbers, my pen sucked when I was down in the basement! here goes, hope this helps

The Cougar Eliminator scoups and Comet scoops are the exact same.

I had a original GT Comet and it had the scoop... part # referenced to a Cougar Eliminator also.

I dont remember the part # but I can look and see if I still have the picture or not.

The scoop he has picture is this scoop.. not a mustang scoop.
