Thanks for all the help guys.... One of these days ill do the swap. I want a 351 in it though. Cash is the downfall. Thanks again!!! Robert
a 351 C or W goes in the same way a 302 will, all the same parts but headers are diffrent between all 3 engines
yeah i understand that it takes a while to change the spark pulgs and other tune ups... what i really want is a 66 mustang with a 351W. ill just put a really nice 302 in my Comet.
can someone tell me how we got from me asking some questions about my 1970 mav 302 conversion to some guy and his truck questions?
hey thanks, just received the engine stands from crites. they came with zero instructions. they are marked right and left but in what direction do the bent sides to the front or back? also need to know where I can get a waterpump pully and fan that will work. what s the best way to get the headers in? I also tried to get spark plugs for the motor but what the store calls for is not what fits in the motor. I'm wondering what motor I have as far as year or what it's out of. the plugs thay said went to a 71 302 was autolite 45's. the threaded area's diameter is larger than whats in the motor now. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks c.b.
You have later model heads then.. they use small plugs.. Im not sure what motors use these heads as I have older style.
yellow1970mav, check the block casting numbers by the starter and the head casting numbers under the valve covers. That'll give you an idea of what year your motor and heads are. Zerpin, a 351 in a 66 Mustang isn't any easier to change plugs on, possibly harder since the shock towers have a more pronounced bow to them then the Maverick. Either one's a B%#@H....
