The heads of the mirrors are the same on alot of different 70's Fords. But the Maverick/Comet sport mirrors have their own unique base.

I have seen Stang 2 mirrors on Mavs before and though they are not identical, they fit/look fine. Only a Mavophille would know the difference.

From what I have seen, they are probably the only stand/bullet combo that will work on a Mav. Older Stangs, Torinos, Fairlanes, and such all have bases that put the mirror on goofy angles when on a Maverick. I have tried several myself. Just getting them and putting them in position to check it out.

It's true also that the bullet part is almost identical on all Fords, so you can put Mav bases on any of them and have a good mirror.

You can take even a late 70s LTD or Torino dual remote set and put Mav bases on them for dual remote Maverick correct mirrors. All you have to do is drill the hole in the base for the cable to run through. It takes a little careful work to get the cable stripped down to go through the holes. Take your time and it works great.

But yeah, Stang 2 or Maverick are about all you got for choices.

I think I like the look of the Torino mirrors enough that I would rather monkey with the bases to get them to sit level, right now they are about one or two degrees off. I hate looking at screw heads on the exterior. I think a little milling or maybe a wedge gasket will do the trick. Or I could just return them. I never buy anything I can't return that isn't Mav/Comet specific. I really want that right side mirror, tho.
