'55 ford rear?

    i know alot of people have said the 57? ford rear fits in a mav but would the rear in a 55 also work? are they even a 9''. this old heap is sitting in the woods by my girl friend's, we found it last year. i didnt see a single thing savable aside from maybe the dash. looks like it was hit, stripped and left in the woods. i did notice there was still drums in the back behind the weeds so i assume the rest of its still there. i was going to take a better look at it during the winter when everything was dead but never got around to it. theres some other heep fliped over in front of it too that needs to be checked

    i HAVE A V8 MAVERICK REAREND UNDER MY 55 CROWN, EVEN THE E-BRAKE HOOKED UP BUT THE REAREND OUT OF THE 55 IS NOT AT ALL A PERFORMANCE REAREND!

    Are you sure that's a '55? The picture is very fuzzy, but the rear quarter panel looks to have the same subdued fins as the '57 Ford Six (less pronounced than the Fairlane) I drove in high school.

    It is very difficult to tell in the photo, though.

    a 57 would not be 2 toned like that. The trim is totally different.

    i posted up other pics of it before and everyone asured me it was a 1955 clud sedan. i only had a camera phone with me at the time so youll have to excuse the pics

    Same here, my dad has a V8 Mav rear in his '54 Ford convertible.
