Steering Box FAILED

    Yeah the rebuild was done by this shop if you need to you can have them rebuild your unit for a reasonable price

    It is scary! I lost the steering in my rig one day where I-55 and I-70 split just north
    of St. Louis and ended up going into the ditch at 70mph! Luckily I didn't turn over (thanks to 44,000 pounds of boxed beef which sits pretty low and keeps the center gravity low). The steering wheel would just spin around! There is an intermediate shaft between the lower column and the steering box and the clamp bolt lossened just enough for it to slide off, instantly disconnecting the wheel from the steering box!
