I found 17" torque thrust wheels for a maverick on craigslist. They are on 275/60/17 tires that look good. Rims and tires are almost mint for $400. Will 17" rims fit. Obviously the tires wont lol.
    Thanks

actually there are a couple guys on this board the I am 99% sure that have that Rim and Tire combo on the back end of a Maverick. To make the 275 tires fit (if the backspacing is correct) I think all you have to do is roll the lip on the rear fenderwell.

I am sure someone that has done this will chime in and let you know for 100% sure.

are you sure its a 275/60? That's 30" tall. I run a 275/40-17 which is standard height for most cars.

yea they werent on a maverick, they were on a truck. Im thinking about getting these...my next ? is does it matter if my maverick is a 6 cylinder and not a v8? I wouldnt think it would matter still being rear wheel drive but they make it sound like the backspacing is different?

    Thanks for any help

    The wheels :

My son has 17" torque thrust with 275/40/17 on the back. Did have to get spacers to keep from rubbing on the inside, but no problems with it.

I picked up a set of 4 lug aluminum slots today. 14x6 and 14x8 and I got them for next to nothing off and old guy down the road from me. To him they were only worth the scrap value.

Pitbull, the wheels you gave the link for will fit your Maverick....they're just like the late model "Bullitt" style wheels on newer Mustangs, but are made by that particular company to fit on early model Fords like the Maverick without having to use adapters/specers like you would with the late-model wheels.

As for whether it matters if your car is a 6-cyl or V-8,....no, it doesn't matter....what does matter is if you car is a 4-lug or 5.

If it's a 4-lug car, those wheels you linked won't work...they only come in 5-lug. You'd have to convert your car from 4-lug to 5 for them to work

If your car is already a 5-lug, and you decide to buy those wheels, 245/45/17 tires are a good, general all-around fit, and up to 275/40/17's can probably be fit on the rear.
