I've been looking for a center rubber strip for the rear bumper of my 1973 Mav for over a year. There's a 1975 listed on eBay

Will this fit my 1973? I don't have the car with me right now to measure the space between the bumper guards, but I think it is 36.5". I know the 1975 bumpers stuck out more than the 1973's, but were the bumper guards and bolt holes in the same places?

I would say it won't fit. Even if it did.....It has a different shape and texture from what you need.

Just keep looking...one will pop up eventually. I am still looking for you.

I think that's what you're looking for Roz! Better not let it get away, especially for that price.

Thanks everyone for the approval. I put in a bid and got it for $24 + $11.50 shipping. He's got another one listed for the same price.

I thought the 72 bumper is the same as the 73 too, but I found out the hard way that they are not. I bought a 72 with bumper guards, and while it can fit on a 73, it isn't the same. The one I wanted, which I got from Craig Selvey (thanks!) is wider, sticks out a little further but not as much as a "big bumper," has bigger bumper guards spaced further a part. If you need a 70-72 bumper, I've got one I've been trying to get rid of. :Handshake
