    Hello there,

I want to know if there is a place where I can buy new floor panel for my 1970 maverick? Or any idea if a mustang (65-70) or falcon will fit my maverick? Please, send me any information that can help me fix my floor panels. You can write me to anibalnavarroch@yahoo.com

    Thanks,

    Anibal

Those have been cancelled ... not available. Somebody at AK was dreaming when they added them to the catalog.

Catalog's lie! Call if you don't believe Mavaholic. They don't make drop in pans for your car no matter what the cat. says. Good Luck!

I have read numerous posts regarding the replacment of floor pans with early Mustang pieces. Can someone who has actually used early Mustang pans explain the issues associated with using Mustang pans on a Maverick with Pics? My front pans are good, the rears are gone! What about a Falcon pan?

If there is such a post, can someone provide a link? Thank you in advance!

i have used 65/66 mustang front pans in my mav.Didnt need to do the rears. The issue with the older mustang pans is this:Mustang floor pans are wider than our cars pans. The outer lip that mated to the rockers inner surface is bent down not up(not a big issue)and the flat trough in the pan that sits over the frame rail is inboard of the rail about 3/4ths of an inch.Since this trough needs to be centered over the rail for the spot welds that attach it to the rail you need to massage the pans width to center this portion. Most mustang pans have the toe board as part of the front pan.I cut them off and used them as seperate pieces to retain the factory seam between the toe and pan.As for the rears I figure you will have the same width issue and need to adjust accordingly. The basic rear pan shape seems to be pretty standard on these old unibody fords.Length and width will be the issue. Lots of guys use floor pans from donor mavs.Craig has some, you should talk to him.heres a couple of finished product shots of my floor.Just needs a coat of rust encapsulator to finish it off.I have other pics of the work in progress. Some are on an older thread but I dont know how to put them in this thread from the old one.

Mavman72, I am in the middle of restoring my '72 whilst trying not to fail out of school. I am looking at the replacement floor pans from the autokrafters catalog. I am gonna buy the front pans at $90 a pop and my rear pans are fine. My question is about the toe boards. is that the piece behind the pedals, like where one's toes would go? Many thanks
