    Hi everyone!!!!

I found these buckets in Sweden (where I live) and he says they are from a Mustang -71, with rails...

He is asking 150 USD for them and since I´m always kind of broke I really need to know if they will fit my Comet - 74 2 dr before I do business...

Anyone know if they will or do you need more info..?

    Thanks!!!

    Robert.

    Nice looking seats.

I think you can make them fit with a little propping here and there to level them, but I doubt they will fit directly.

    Anyone have any personal experience?

Except that I am not sure...There has been plenty of discussion on here about what will fit. And I think the consensus is ONLY Maverick/Comet seats, unless you want to do a little fabbing.

But at least with those, you may get away with minimal fabbing, being similarly yeared Ford cars...

The lumps and bumps in the floor are what gets you. Each model of car has a different shaped floorpan, so you may just need a couple of spacers to get them to sit level.

Those seats are same as Maverick seats ... just different upholstery. The difference is the tracks ... they will not be a direct bolt in to a Maverick floor.

So if I go ahead and buy them what would I need to get them to sit right, comet/maverick rails (and are they easy to find) or do I need to make something up myself..?

    Thank you!!! :tiphat:

No ... Maverick tracks are NOT easy to find. I'm sure with a little ingenuity and shade-tree engineering they can be made to fit.

    Good-looking seats!

Also, I think you will find, in fact, that those are 1970 seats. They are similar to 71-73 Mustang seats, but I was told at a Mustang website that the shape of the upper portion of the seat is a bit different. I am telling you this in case you ever wanted to get new covers for them.

As mentioned above, those will bolt right in if you get Maverick seat tracks. The proper highback tracks are built up a couple of inches. If you get seat tracks from Luxury Decor Option bucket seats, they will mount the seats just off of the floor.

I am 6'1" tall and am just in the process of putting LDO tracks on 73 Mustang seats. It is looking like it will be a good fit for me, but my 5'4" wife might need to sit on a pillow to see out. :p

Expect to spend another $150 on Mav seat tracks, tough to get. Most of these cars came with a bench seat, and most other Ford seat tracks place the seats too far back in the car.
