As far as I know you will have to change out the hub that goes on the spindle. You will probably have to change the bearings also as the ones for the 4 lug are smaller. It would take a special bearing set to change them.. I have never tried this but I have changed out the complete steering assy from the pitman arm to the idler arm. All those parts are larger and heavier for the V8 system. Good luck.

Nope bearings are all the same for 4 lug and 5 lug

You only need to change 4 things everything else interchanges

    1- Drums
    2- Backing plate
3- Brake cylinder (5 lug uses a larger cylinder)
    4- Brake shoes

4 lug use a 9" brake system and the 5 lugs use a 10" brake system.

Looks right to me - as the spindles stayed the same between 4 lug or 5 lug - but there are changes between years.

    For All Drum Spindles:
Early 70's (69.5) - used the Falcon spindle
    Late 70's to 74 - had a Maverick spindle
    75 - Granada Spindle

    76-77 used a disk brake
