I am going to need floor pans for my Comet. I read on this forum the 65-70 mustang pans will work with some mods. I was just wondering if anyone has tried the 71-73 pans or if they would fit any better or not at all?
I talked to Mustang's Unlimited and they felt the early pans would require less mods. Some people claim to have used the later model ('71-'73) pans however, I've yet to read a post that describes the application in detail.
Hi My name is Don I also need floor pans 1972 can you tell me what you used in your car modle type ect please reply Thank you Don
Floor Pans I havent done mine yet but I will use 65-66 mustang floors. There are several posts on here some with photos and how to details. From what im told the Mustang pans do not require alot of mods and they are cheap too.
it's what I used , hand forming most of the radius edges in the rear pan just in front of the back seat platform. If you check ebay, you can oftentimes find where someone is parting out a car and you can get the entire pan from them.
thank you for your reply but i have purchesed 68 mustang pans havent got in yet but done some musering and think thay will work fine i own a body shop and will take pitchers and post them later Don
We did a ground up resto on a maverick at work and if you can find a good donor, a 4-door floor pan works as well, you just have to cut about 6-8 inches off the back...
wish i woulda had this blog on before i started putting in 79-93 mustang pans, they fit with a little engineering
