I need to know what insulators will work in my 76 Maverick… I think I can use Mustang Parts… but as to what year of Mustang I don’t really know…

So what Years of Mustangs are compatible with Mavericks?

When I replace the spring insulators and the perch saddles… is there anything else I should do while I have the springs out? What should I look for?

Thanks for all the info people….

You have to remove the springs to replace the upper A frame bushings. So if yours are original, it mught be a good time to do it now. If yours are ok, at least remove the 2 nuts and pop the a arm out and put 90 degree fittings in.

If you look under the hood, down at the shock towers. There are 2 nuts on each side. These hold the upper control arm in place. DO NOT REMOVE THESE NUTS UNLESS THE SPRING IS REMOVED FIRST!!!!! DO NOT REMOVE THESE NUTS UNLESS THE SPRING IS REMOVED FIRST!!!!! DO NOT REMOVE THESE NUTS UNLESS THE SPRING IS REMOVED FIRST!!!!! Get it? Once you remove the upper control arm. There is a bushing on each end. Looks like a big nut. These usually dry out and start squeeking and drive you nuts. Replace them and/or put 90 degree grease fittings on them so they can be lubricated. Most cars probably have access holes drilled, cut or gouged in the shock tower to gain access. If yours dont, put the fittings in.

The only thing I can add is: DO NOT REMOVE THESE NUTS UNLESS THE SPRING IS REMOVED FIRST!!!!!

There is a little cap on each end of the bushings. Just unscrew it and put a grease fitting in its place.

on a side note IF you want heavier front springs ( i put a windsor in mine so I did some research ) the 250 6 cylinder front springs have a higher spring rate than the v-8 springs do FYI

if you install the grease fittings and lubricate them do the bushings still need to be replaced or are they fine just with grease?

nevermind... I'm just going to return the bushings and ball joints and order whole new upper arms to make life simple.
