Ok, I see there is a post below regarding headers but I have to ask a few questions on this: I have a set of older Headman's on my 72 Grabber that were purchased from SuperShops back in the early 80's. I had to add the power steering drop down bracket for the power steering cylinder to clear. These headers have NEVER fit right! They rub on the frame rails in some areas as well as the shock towers. Is there any decent headers out there that fit correctly with no interference issues and that go in fairly easy??? I don't mind spending a little extra for a decent set. Thanks A Bunch! 1MadMav
There is one big thing everyone is leaving out:16suspect what is your tranny and linkage configuration. we need to have a tech article written that has all this info on it so that we (me included) don't spend large amounts of time searching the forum for answers. Robert
Or maybe could write a summary article and put it in the tech writeup section telling us what fits, what mods need to be made and what interferences to expect.
Hope nobody thinks less of me.....but somebody new to our world might not know that that shifter is for an automatic. That is why I think we need to have something written up that has as much detail as possible..include pictures and part numbers special things needed to make it work. Robert
also Links to pics of the parts and where they go. It took me 10 minutes of looking to find that the P/S drop bracket didn't go on the P/s resevoir.
I have tried again tonight to install the factory V8 Z-bar and even trimmed the engine side but it still hit the header tube (88300's) so I just ordered the hooker 6901's from summit..they are on the brown truck headed this way.....will know in a couple of days if I still have a headache. Robert
Post it when you figure it all out, I, too, have the V8 z bar thing going on and would like to know the particulars. I do not have PS so will not be needing the PS drop down bracket. rk
6901's I have a set of 6901's that were ceramic coated after the previous owner modified (hammer) the front tubes. They are brand new. $300.00 shipped from Green Bay, Wi (to the lower 48) TJ
all i can say about summit is DAMN they are fast....ordered the headers yesterday around 3:30 and they were here at my office by 11:00....now to take them home and see if they fit. Robert
