    it depends but fore one used and old 50 to 150 bucks sounds good :burnout:

    found one fully built with a 4:60 gear for 250 but i think the gear is abit much for street use

    You won't be happy with a 4:60. Need something more like a 3:73 or lower.:)

    They go for $75-$100 in the junkyard all day long. Same price as a 9"

    You find me one fully built 8 inch rearend with 4.60 gears in a junkyard for $100 and ill give you $200 for it. Also sell my 8 inches for $100-$150.

    i am not that picky i just want a 350 to 373 gear and i wish i can find them at pick n pull

    to buy all the stuff to build an 8 inch and have it set up properly would be 300 or more i have one 4.56 with spool tight $275

    I ran a locked 4.62 for far too long ... you will get tired of it.
    Big stupid fun at the track,...
    miserable on the street... no traction, no top speed, no gas mileage (5-6 mpg, really!) ...

    Our cars are light enough that a huge gear can easily get to be overkill. I just swapped to a 3:55 and I will bet I run about the same ETs with better finish line mph. Much better street manners and gas mileage too. Most guys here seem to like these and 3:80s (2 common 8 inch ratios).
