New here, so hi! I've found 10+ places where it tells me you CANNOT interchange a Maverick grill/hood to a Comet. None of these areas can tell me why.... Is it a simple refab job? Because the front quarter panels are the same on both cars correct?? Thanks ahead of time!!! -Brent
Who ever told you that is wrong....You can! but you will also need to swap out the bumper to make it match. then you'll have a Comick "the best of both worlds" and by your screename i take it you might be a fan of the CKY crew????? i actually just downloaded Haggard the movie, but i haven't watched it yet.
Mavs/comets are the same from 70 to 77.The difference is the comet hood has a frontal bulge that the mav hood does not have.Consequently the hoods interchangs as do all the body parts but... you have to use the comet hood latch support and grill/bumper on a mav and visa versa. Otherwise the parts interchange just fine.

Thanks for the insight! I knew about the hood's extra nose. That's kinda why I wanna swap it. I like the flat Mav nose. But Comet's tail light assembly so I figured if it can be done, I'm game!!! So get a Mav grill, latch support and grill and add a straight front bumper and done? Sweetness! Anyone got these lyin around? I'll check the market too.
There's a couple but i cant remember their SN's. But these cars are really easy to work with. You basically just bolt the parts off then onto the other. There's no cutting involved or modifications involved.
