Anyone know the dimensions for a '94 Ranger 8.8 rear end? Are they a good choice to put in a Maverick?
Guess no one has a comment. I missed a great deal. Complete drum brake 8.8 rear with limited slip and 3.55 for $75 on Craigslist. I was third in line so no surprise I didn't get it.
they are built with the pinion offset to the passenger side. similar to the explorer diff. i think its around 57 inches wide. not exactly sure.
The offset and width makes the case & axles not a good choice. But it would have been nice to get that center for $75. Someone got a heck of a deal. Thanks for the info.
I have one in my S-10, sorry I couldn't help with dimensions, a lot of time has passed... There's a bunch of info on the S-10 sites, most cut the long side tube and use a second short side axle effectively narrowing the rear 2 1/2" and centering the pinion by doing this. My truck's rear was built for $900 complete with redrilled Moser axles, all new brakes (& redrilled drums), narrowed one side, perches relocated, factory 3.73 locker and new Ford Racing posi kit with truck preload spring.
