rear end

I need some help here maverick brothers, found a rear end out of a 91 explorer and i would like to know if it will bolt under my maverick or will i have to do some fabricating.

 

You'll definitely needs some fab work. Check the distance between the spring perches, you'll prolly have to cut them off and reweld to a new location. You can narrow it some (and center the pinion too) by shortening the DR side tube and using a second PASS side axle in it. After that, you might still need wheels with more backspacing. I'd only bother with it if you found a locker axle with the "right" gear...

 

it would be easier to buy a 9 inch housing from me and use your axles and backing plates

sounds like a deal, when can we do this. I will come by so we can get all th stuff i will need before i bring the car. Do you have a good set of gears also. This is just alittle about the car. I will be running E-7 heads, Pro stock intake, 280H camshaft, Headers with 2 1/2" exhaust and C4 tranny with strong shift kit all i need now is a good rear end to make it pull good.

 

75.00 would be just a highway gear 2.75 or something like that and not a track-lock
can get you a rebuilt one for 450.00 3.50 gear

So if i went to pull a part junk yard what car should i look at to get the rear end tha t your going to get and if i don't find one i'll come get the one you can get.

 

mavericks never came with 9 inch rears and you will not find a 9 inch at a pick-pull place around here for cheap ..Mine are custom made but you might find a center chunk .

Well i guess we will be going with your rear end. Pull a part here in louisville have the whole rear end for $100 but since we will need to do changes and i want it done right. When can we do this.
