does anybody know if they would work i have so many threads about manifolds and everytime i ask i get a no u cant tell me that only maverick/comet is the only thing that will work ford couldnt have been that picky. here's a pic the only reason i'm asking is becuz im not rich by anymeans and i'm trying to get something to work. my brother has a pair and he said he would sell them to me.

Maverick headers are pretty specific, There's only about 3 or 4 types that will work without modifications. The only stock ones that work are Maverick ones. That is because of how little room is between the engine and the shock towers. :)

those are some of the worst flowing factory pieces made. a set of stock maverick manifolds will outflow those by a long shot.

    Actually....ford was that picky!! :D

Like you have read...ONLY Maverick headers or exhaust manifolds will work.

The flow of the heads are only as good as the manifold or headder they are paired up with and those headers that came stock on the Explorers were pathetic to say the least. I wouldn't want to have to breath through them i might die:biglaugh:

try them and see. if they work, then great! post pictures and teach us something new. asking a question and then arguing with the answer wont get your car built.

Give 'em a shot. If they fit, at least they will let you run the engine and get on the road. Change them later if you want, but at least get the car moving.
