Those look like they might clear the GT40P head plug angle...

The Explorer I took the P heads off of had small tube manifolds like those, but I dont remember if they had to two that went up or not.

    Hey Dylan
I'm in the same boat as you i keep looking for donor cars to get parts from now I'm looking for a car to get a front sump oil pan from and like you I'm looking for some exhaust. I'm doing a 89 5.0 HO in a 70 mav.
:Handshake keep me informed on what you come up with.
    Thanks Don

i was running into the same problem and i thought of those manifolds too, the best thing you could do is just try them. in NY a used set is 30 bucks at a pick and pull, i got lucky and found a guy on craigslist who had a set of maverick manifolds, also something else to look at is the 94 mustang shorty header, its almost the same as the maverick manifolds but its a little pricy and its made out of steal, but i would look into it first they look really close to each other in shape and size but i'm not 100% on if it will fit or not just a thought if you have a junk yard or pick and pull around with no ford exploders lol, hope i helped and good luck

fox/sn95 Mustang headers factory or aftermaket wont work. Several guys have tried them. I think youd have better luck with truck manifolds.

Those are 4.6 modular headers. They dont fit the 5.0L. And like dave mentioned the heddman ones are only 150 for either short or long tubes..

the explorer manifolds dont work, it dosnt hug the block enough maybe if you shave the towers they'll fit, i went to he junk yard to get a bunch of diff ones, since the maverick manifolds i have dont work, the closest i've gotten is a pair of mercury mountaineer their just like the explorer manifolds except their iron and they seem to huge the block a bit better, but the towers still need to be shaved and the steering box needs to be moved over a bit
