I HAVE A CHANCE TO BUY A PAIR OF 71 TORINO BUCKET SEATS W/THE TRACKS STILL IN PLACE. WOULD THESE BE A BOLT IN FOR MY 74 MAVERICK 2 DR BY CHANCE? IF ANYONE KNOWS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANKS...
The seats are same as 71-73 Mustang/Cougar and 70-72 Maverick/Comet... However, the tracks are not likely the same. Might bolt in though. The 71-73 Stang tracks bolt in, but the seats are offset to one side by a few inches. May or may not be the same for Torino/Montego tracks.
Does your car have the 'cat hump'? I can't remember if 74s have those or not... If it does have the hump, then the Torino tracks definately won't work.
If the price is right then get them. You can find maverick tracks. I even have a set I took out of a 76 maverick that I would sell.
I thought there were some 74s here with the hump, and some without. I thought I might bring it up so he got the right tracks.
In 1975, Ford planned to use the converters only on California models using the 250 Six and 302 V8, and on the 49 states version of the 200 Six. However, a mid-year economy and driveability program saw the installation of the converters on all 1975 models nationwide. So, your 1975 49 states 250 Six or 302 V8 model may or may not have a converter. The engine emission equipment decal, located on the valve cover of the engine, will give you a definitive answer. All 1976 and 1977 models have the converter. That being said...Does this read all 75's have the hump but not the cat?
Thanks for all the feedback on this. My 74 does not have that hump on the right side, pretty flat w/no cat. When you guys were talking about the hump I thought you were talking about the removable floor shift sheet metal piece. So would those Torino tracks be very similar to the Maverick tracks, I wonder? I'm just trying to avoid drilling extra holes I guess...
I don't think it would be a matter of having to drill more holes. The Maverick tracks come with spacers to make them sit level when bolted down. You may have to make you some spacers and modify the bolts a bit. A couple of them would wind up being too short I believe. Even without the cat hump these seat tracks have spacers.

Well now we are going in a different direction for the seats. I really like those nice LDO seats, they're very comfy. Had some in a tan 73 LDO Maverick back in high school that we rolled over, yikes!!! I'd like to find some blue ones, but tan will do, I already posted in the wanted section for the seats & pass LDO door panel & the auto floor shifter-have a cherry blue leather floor shift Versailles console for the car too.
