Way too much off set in those mounts. Only about 1/4" off set on Maverick mounts. Autokrafters list the frame stands in their catalog, don't know if they actually carry them or not, but you can look at a pic and see the difference in them and the ones you have.
Here.. try looking at this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20b727f8d2
Back the the oil pan issue, I believe trucks use a larger capacity pan, possibly 6-7 qrt? Could this be part of your problem? I agree, those frame stands are not correct for these cars and I dont believe they will work.
Yep, look at the ones Blugene posted and compare to yours, nowhere near alike. That's a good price on those on eBay, if they stay that low....
Front sump truck pan is a 6 qt pan it should fit in a maverick with no issues the sump is just a tad larger. I believe his whole problem is in his mounts.
Hey thanks for the advice, ill see what I can do about the mounts and I have gotten a front sump oil pan from a 74 LTD stock with a 351w, and it seems to be working great... The shock towers are seeming to be another problem. The special order headers are hitting .Previous owner beat and banged them pretty badly, how hard is it to replace them?
Does anyone happen to have a picture of their headers in place or out? The driver side hits shock tower on front header bendback and passenger hits on second header after bend back just past back bolt that holds top a frame...
If they are banged bad then wait on the install and shave the towers. I wish I woulda found this site before I put my motor in cause my towers are banged also..looks like crap. Here are some posts that contain info to some others issues. It's a search of "shaved towers". http://mmb.maverick.to/search.php?searchid=3139447
ok i have a few pictures of where the headers are hitting, Ive got the headers on, transmission mounted and floating, waiting on frame stands, doing what i can do. Maybe with a better look somebody can get me back on the right track.
i would wait on my motor mount stands and get my engine @trans where it should be and from the looks of your shock towers would consider shaving them
That's what I'm sayin.. Looks as bad as mine. The headers look closer than mine at the steering box. Does the pitman hit the tube? Looks like it's right next to it.. Watch out when turning it for the first time. Have someone watching cause it will bend the tube easily.
