1971 Comet 2Door Parts Interchange-IE Hood & Grill

    Hello,

    I just purchased my 1971 Comet 2door and the hood is completely rusted through right on the front lip. I was wondering what hoods would work on it, either from other cars or if anybody knows where i can go either a steel or fiberglass one on the internet?
    Also, I was wondering what replacement grill i could get, because some of the plastic fin-type things are broken off!

    All comet hoods and grills from 71-77 are the same. Some of the grills are trimmed a little different but physically, they are all the same.

    the rusted hood lip is a comon thing with the mav./comet hoods. the hoods have "weep" (drain) holes but the trim piece covers them up.
    do a search on "hood repair" you might get some info you can use on this hood or another one you run across...frank...:bouncy:

    To bad I live so far away. I have a few Comet parts...Just keep you eyes open on Ebay. Also you can go to www.AutoKrafters.com they have parts. This forum, in the "for sale" section might help you out also. Or you could post what you need, in "parts wanted" section...

    anybody got a hood for sale ? my bro backed his titan up over the hood of my ride. i found a grille in n.c. on it's way. no luck on hood yet
