I hate the big Ford Compressor on top of the engine...is there anything else we can use, preferably smaller, that can be hidden down below the alternator or something?

I know you can replace the compressor with a smaller Sanden compressor. Kits are available from www.classicautoair.com

Roland, can you get those Sanden compressors. Those are nice and small. Not much bigger than the pulley...

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
If I were you I'd email or call them, It would suck to order the kit then have a hose be too short. Or have a bracket not fit.

They made up an underhood kit for my Maverick. The hoses came with just one end crimped on each hose and a box full of various loose ends. Got to choose routes for the hoses, mark them for length and position, and find someone to crimp the hoses. Worked out well. Theyt are good guys to work with.

Very old thread, but lots of good new info!:thumbs2:

Some forums close threads after they are inactive for a few months, this is why I don't like them to do that.

Only thing left to clean it even more is to go with individule coils on the plugs.. But yea, it is very nice.
