My sons 74 maverick that he just bought a month ago has sprung a few considerable leaks. Anyone know if i can use tanks from other vehicles on it or does anybody on here have one for sale? Thanks

The gas tanks interchange from 74-77 for Mavericks and Comets. If you are going to replace it I have one. Email me if you what.

Use the search feature, and you should find all the info you'll need. You can buy a brand new 75 tank from Rock Auto for close to $100, but you need a few little extras, and they've been discussed hundreds of times. :)

You can also pick one up from you local NAPA, just ask for a 1976 maverick gas tank.

The only advance auto in California is 2.5 hours away from me :D

I wish they had one here in town, I've heard nothing but good things from them.

Ordered one for my 77. Gonna pick it up today. Mine was completely full of rust and I've been trying to filter it for years now. It might be due to the fact that a 34 yr old car only has 17,000 miles. Oh well, good luck with the bolts. Mine were spinning in the frame and had to use a small flat bar to hold the T to remove them. Good Luck

71-74 are the same and 75-77 use a larger tank

You probably made the mistake of asking for the wrong year. For some reason some places will only show them for a 76. But it's a direct swap for a 77.

NAPA Part number is #STP F30
