I was standing out front of my Dads restaurant Yesterday when I saw a flat bed tow truck coming down the street with a Pinto station wagon on it. I then realized it was someone that comes in to the restaurant and he picks up cars for scrap metal. He actually took my Escort when it died and that is why I bought my Grabber. Anyway, Is there anything I should try to get off of it before it is crushed? Factory floor shifter? Will the window cranks work? Thanks!

Ditto, grab the rearend. The car itself if in pretty good shape makes a nice street cruiser after swapping in a V8.

Unfortunately, with my bad back I am not able to remove any big items(only small stuff like mirrors). If he calls me back, I will see if he is interested in pulling and selling the big stuff(rear end? rack & pinion?).

I do have an extra 302 that could be dropped in it, but I have absolutely no room for another car. I am only suppose to have 2 cars where I live and I already have 4. Plus I have 1 at my step Brother's Dad's house.

So the guy with the Pinto said he thinks the mirrors are in good condition and it also has the floor mounted shifter. He said there is another Pinto on the property where he got the station wagon and it might also have some usable parts. He has a bad back and knees, so he won't be pulling any of the big stuff either. If it has the rack & pinion or good rear end I'm sure he would let somebody pull it themselves for a decent price, otherwise it will all go for scrap.

I went and looked at it today and the only thing I want off of it is the sport mirrors. He told me it had the floor mounted shifter, but it is a manual not an automatic. He believes it does not have the good rear end, but he will probably pull the rack and pinion if anybody is interested in it. I know they fit, but does anybody know if the Pinto sport mirrors are slightly different? The "neck" looks a little bit longer.

Went and got the mirrors today. Dual remote!:thumbs2: I thought it would be four screws and done, but boy was I wrong. At first the screws were so rusted they wouldn't move. Then all they wanted do do was spin. The car is going for scrap anyway, so out came the sawsall and done. This car was packed full with leaves and other stuff so you really couldn't see the seats. Got a look today and it has Black High Back Buckets in surprisingly pretty good shape. Hmmm!??:hmmm::)
