You can drill the hole in the Vic timing cover for the dipstick. The big parts houses sell chrome dipstick tubes and sticks for Fords in the performance aisle. I'd run an elcetric pump though, instead of the mech pump.

I am going with a edelbrock high flow mechanical pump since all of the fuel lines are already there. Right now I am trying to find the right parts to make the exhaust work with my column shift automatic and power steering. The engine is ready and waiting to go in, so I need to come up with a solution fast. I have been debating all of the many options.

You can plumb a MrGasket12S electric into the factory fuel lines. I mounted mine on the frame rail next to the front spring eye, then ran a wire into the passenger compartment to a toggle switch. No regulator needed with this pump and the flow (35 gal/hr) is plenty enough to feed the 400+HP 331 with three carbs.

Had one of those years ago, blew oil out of the vent holes all over my engine compartment. Called Edelbrock and they gave me the part number for a $36 mounting gasket that would fix the problem... WTF?
