so as everyone know iv been trying to track down a 250 inline 6 straight shift fly wheel for a the past week....... so iv been doing so research about a fly wheel that might interchange so here it go's a 250 is internally balanced and uses a smaller flywheel 157 tooth and it has a zero balance unlike the 302 that are 28oz and 50oz so that knock them in the head but a 300 inline 6 is also internally balanced and they used a 164 or 184 tooth i think so tomorrow im going to go to the junk yard and try to find a fly wheel off of a 300 inline 6 and a bellhousing that the fly wheel fits in because they are larger than the 250 but i am will to try this and will let everyone know if this will or will not work so wish me luck
and so dose the 250 except the 250 used a 10in clutch and the 300 use a 11in clutch but yea that should be easy to find

its one of those thing where my car should have been on the road last week things i think i can find a fly wheel bellhouseing clutch and presserplate for problem 40 or 50 bucks
I should have read your post before I posted mine. I was thinking you could take a 302 flywheel and have the balance removed to match the 250 flexplate at a machine shop? What do you think? Rodney
y take a 302 when a 300 in line 6 has a zero balance iv every thing to put it together ps wait ill give info later
so i pre mocked every thing together any yes a 300 inline 6 flywheel will bolt to a 250 as everyone know a 250 calls for a 157 tooth flywheel that is 11 and 3/4 in wide and a 300 flywheel is a almost 14 in wide so i trade the smaller bellhousing i had to a big bellhousing that will fit the flywheel the bellhousing is off of a 84 f150 4 speed bulldog and the flywheel is off a 94 f150 300 inline 6 i went to a nuther junk yard and found out that a 300 flywheel casing number it the same on all 300 that will start will c8 which if decoded the say 68 model but i dont think that a i would find 2 different trucks with a 68 model flywheel on them but any who this set up will bolt to the 250 iv done bolted every thing together iv got to put a new ring gear on the flywheel iv got and time to put the 250 in my car bananamanbananamanbananamanbananamanbananaman:bananaman
Good to know, does the 250 starter work, and is the 300 clutch a 11"? Got me thinking about putting my 4 speed in behind a 250
its got the bolt hole for a 11" clutch but i could only get a 10" presser plate and clutch from the junk yard <--- i no used clutch but i dont really got a nuther 100 to shell out for a new clutch whick is cheaper than the 250 clutch i didnt bolt the starter on yet because iv got to put a new ring gear on the fly wheel but yes the bolt hole line up o and i forgot to add that the dust sheld i got is off a 3.8 which = bellhousing might work idk but the one iv got uses the fork but has a spot to bolt on a slave cylinder o and both flywheels i looked at are out of 90's model truck so i think they have used the same flywheel for 30 some odd years with no change but im not sure if this works ill make a tech tread
i got the new ring gear put on working on getting the tranny lined up and bolted on which is a pain but after i get everything put together ill post some pic then ill test the starter :bananaman
note the bell housing bolt from a auto tranny will not work ask me how i no you will need 4 bolts a half inch longer the 2 on the top are the same as for the starter i no there is a differents between auto and manual starter the nose on a auto in longer than the nose on a manual starter
