hi im looking for some cyl head info i know that the 200 and 250 head will interchange. does anyone know what year fords will interchange with a 74 250 motor?
ok all 144, 170, 200 and 250 heads interchange. the diff is the log size carb bore and the valves the 80s head is the best for flow and power. these check out sites http://www.fordsix.com/ http://www.classicinlines.com/ also this is a good book to have if you want the six the run like its a raped ape http://www.classicinlines.com/products.asp?cat=73 i bought the book it has lots of great info on the ford small inline six.
geez frank y would u choke down that engine with a small lon and smaller valves..... thats anti power... i had a 78 250 head on my 70 200 and the thing ran good
Not really. In 1970 all heads shared the same valve sizes and log volume. The only difference was combustion chamber vloume. So a 1970 170 head would increase compression but not choke power.
The best heads are 1977 up. They have the larger valves, valves for unleaded gas and largest intake volume. Rick
