I did a search for this the only thing I found out was a 78-79 Fairmont with a
200 engine will work, I'm going to make a trip to the parts yards around here and thought I'd find out what else will work and what I need to look for. Also does it make a difference if it's manual trans or auto donor car ?
    I have a 72 Maverick with a 200 automatic,any help would be great thanks

Does it have to be a 200 engine or will one out of a 250 work ?

Yeah, and he'll have to re-finance his house to pay for the motor and transmission mounts! Not all of us are hot-rodders. Most of you guys I see with the V8 conversions are poking along at 30mph and slowing to a crawl for every little dip and curve in the road. Meanwhile I'm blowing by you in my stock 2.3 Pinto because I have place's to be and things to do.
If your going to have a fast car you damn well better drive it like one 24/7/365 or you've wasted your time and money.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
I got the durapark setup off a 74 maverick 200(I think that's the only year for the female cap)

I would go after a duraspark II setup if you can find one, I couldn't so I settled for the first version.

You'll need the coil also but you can just buy that new if you want. Get the connector that goes to the coil terminals though.

the points were ok for their time, but as time goes by better parts are made, also more reliable ,not bullet proof. and from what I remember the fuel burn is better, with a plug change and different gap on the plugs. I have done it to a few of my V8 olds engines and they respond very well.
