We are doing a 4 wheel disc brake swap from a Versailles on my '72 Grabber and my friend said to get the upper and lower ball joints for a Versailles. Is that correct? I want to use the same brand for the uppers and lowers, but there are not a whole lot of choices. Has anybody ever used these before? I looked for Moog and couldn't find anything available. There aren't much available period for the Versailles. There seems to be more out there for the uppers. I could only find one other set of lowers and I thought these might be my best bet since they are the upper and lower. The brand name of the other ones was Falcon Steering Systems. Anybody heard of them?
Never heard of them, I use MOOG stuffs. So, why are you looking for Lincoln parts, are you using the Lincoln spindles for the front? The Versailles is a great car to use because it has 4-wheel disc. It was a high end Granada / Monarch. It also has a 9" rear end and various other good parts, like a 1" sway bar and center console just to name a couple. These used to be the hot ticket, but now they are few & far between and hard to get parts for. Unfortunately, mine are from a '77 and those won't work.
I guess I will have to do some investigation, because I heard talk here of them being used. That's actually what gave me the idea to pull it before it gets junked.
The sway bar is tempered steel. I think it would snap if you tried to bend it. I guess you could heat it first then have the bar re-tempered. Notice I said THINK and GUESS. In other words...
