    Without a doubt.... if it wasnt sold at Pugmire it wasnt a stabber as they were the only one to do it and a local Atlanta shop did the Thrush side pipes etc....

    Looks like not all Stabber’s got the Thrush side pipes. This is the only one I seen with something different

    Were they converted to Stabbers before or after the sale? If they were converted before the sale, there is a chance that a Stabber was traded for another vehicle from another dealership.

    Dealer trades rarely, if ever, happened back then. It is a very common practice today.

    I gotta disagree. I have the paper work showing where Ford sold my Falcon to Earnest Beaudry Ford, which is one of the largest Ford dealers in Atlanta back in the day, and Universal Ford sold it to my dad. Maybe its possible things changed 10 years later.

    glad to see this post come up after being started SO long ago.
    I just recently learned of the bearcat and now a stabber? AWESOME I like the stabber kit very much. I was already thinking of putting oldschool side pipes on my car. this is only fuel for the fire :biglaugh:

    Cant say for all of them but when I was 16 my father and I went to pugmire and I looked at a few that were for sale so I know they were done before the sale but not sure if after the sale.

    My source is a sales manager from my local Ford dealer (now closed). He started selling Ford's in 1961 and still sells Ford's today at the age of 82.

    He is my Dad.

    I am sure it is possible that it more common in other area's than around here. Dealer's were pretty competitive around here. Still true today. Some are more than happy to work with another dealer for a dealer trade. Some will not dealer trade under any circumstances.
