Looking for a gas tank for a maverick, just looked under mine today and found a hole and found my fuel problem. Thanks for any ideas or solutions.

You might be able to find one or get that one repaired. They only used that tank for a short time so most guys have to buy differant year tank and make it fit! I was lucky and found one close by when mine took a dump.

Had mine plugged and coated, with the pour in liner. Been about 5yrs on this one, and no leaks or rust.

For mine, I had a radiator shop boil it out and braze closed any pinholes they found when doing a pressure test. After I got it back from them I used the Eastwoods tank sealer kit to line the tank.

I have used the RENU process too on other tanks and it is by far the best but it is a bit pricey.

    Question for you guys.

Is there a possibility that a comet tank for earlier years might match?

    Thank you guys lots!

Sorry but no go. The early Comet used the Falcon tank. It is about 6 inches wider and had a fuel filler offset to the side of the tank.

I know several board members have tried to find a suitable tank from other Ford models but nothing fits without cutting out part of the trunk floor as most other tanks are wider by about 6".

    :)

Well darn, thank you guys, I believe we are going to find a way to patch it, better then when it was done before and hope that works, if it doesn't, I have to go look for a tank.

    Thank you guys a lot
