Ran into a parts car online. It's a 74' comet that has the black interior I'm looking for. I believe my car is a 74 maverick, so should there be any issues swapping the complete interrior?

Verify both cars are 2 doors, the same year helps but, verify the seat belts are the same style, and check to make sure the back seat isn't a early back seat for some reason, different seat belts and side moldings.

Thanks for the info. It is a 2-door, I'll just take a look at my panels before I go and pick apart the parts car.

Here's a crash course on how to tell the difference. The LATE panel is on the left...the EARLY panel on the right. Notice the Armrest and curve at the floor is different for the seatbelt clearance.

Jeff, so does late mean '73 and up?

Yep. I had the 73 LDO panels in the pic in my 74. I now have the black 72 panels that are also in the pic. Had to change back seat to make it happen.

Un-interesting bit of trivia, you can fit a modern car seat/booster seat into the early back seat with ease. However, the late back seat is too narrow to fit them correctly.

You are missing a third type of panel, the 1974-1977 panel. Down next to the seat belt area is is squared off to meet up with the retractable seat belt. Otherwise, it is like the one on the left.

I will have to dig them out again for another photo shoot to include the '74 panel
