1976 Fuel sending unit interchanged with 1976 Mustang 2

    the thing about it is i dont have a 76 comet sending unit to go by i am putting a 76 tank on my 73 comet then i bought the 76 mustang sending unit thinking i could get something going...

    can i use the same vapor valve for the car or do i have to use the mustang 2 vapor valve?

    what did u do? did u get a new sending unit? a new tank?

    i have a 1975 mercury comet, but i have a 1976 ford maverick tank. since im going to use a mustang 2 sending unit, ...
    im not sure if like the vapor valve has anything to do with the sending unit so like yeah im wondering if i have to use a mustang 2 vapor valve or a ford maverick vapor valve?

    Im like u I used a mustang 2 sending unit.... I did used a maverick vapor valve... don't think vapor valve has anything to do with sending unit I could be wrong

    I would bet that the mods he made had the most to do with gettting it sealed to the tank. Once it's installed and sending any variance can be tuned out of the circuit. I've helped friends re-tune sender circuits from fuel cells to work correctly with the stock fuel gauge on the dash in a few cars. Going from a 14 gallon tank to a 5 gallon race tank tends to require a new gauge unless you understand the circuits. It's generally pretty simple to get any sender to read correctly to a fuel gauge.
