What exhaust system do you have?

It looks like I'm gonna be adding a header to my 250I6. My question is what do you guys that have a header run for an exhaust? Right now I have a single pipe with a glass pack but with adding a header I'm looking for a meaner sound...

I have a single out header. Goes into a single pipe that Y's off near the rear of the trans and has glass packs under the rear seat area, full tail pipes out the back. Here's a video of it I took a few years ago. It sounds a little deeper and more throaty in real life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h83ENIu5ZAQ&list=PL39B95DB024B7B9EC

Where did you get the header from?

I also have the signal out header. It has a 2.5" pipe going into a turbo muffler under the rear seat and Y's to two 2" tail pipes. It also sounds a little deeper and throaty in real life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEt9jn0e5l4

1 5/8 Hedmann full lengths, 3in magnaflow turn downs with an x pipe. Too loud for my liking hopefully with tails it'll quiet down a lot.

I have summit long tube headers, about a foot of straight 2 1/2" pipe, then into dual thrush welded mufflers (they sound a lot like flowmasters but half the price) and then 2 1/2" pipe coming out of both at like 45 degrees and exiting as side pipes just in front of the rear tires. Its a little different sound but i like it a lot.

I have 250 with factory air. Got my header from inline six. Stainless, ceramic coated dual outlet. I then ordered the arvinode dual exhaust setup from them. The exhaust would not fit but I did use the front and rear mufflers and the x pipe. The car had to go to an exhaust shop to make every thing fit. Most of the pipes I bought got wasted. I now have a nice dual set up and it sounds nice and mellow. Just was a little more costly than I expected.

ps: use stage 8 header bolts. The studs and nuts that came with the headers kept coming loose.

Hey, sorry about the late reply but I just saw this thread, any chance you have video or something of your sound? I'm a little interested in the sound it would produce.

I am having trouble getting the video I took to upload. I'll keep trying....As far as the sound, at an idle it is actually pretty mellow, a soft rumble. Whet I rap on it, it gets attention! I have been told by a few that it sounds better when I get on it. I like it because it doesn't sound like a V8.....I just gotta be different.....

That's the reason I want to hear it! Haha, I was looking into Classic Inlines Arvinode dual exhaust because it has a wicked sound that isn't ricy like the imposter.
Let me know if you ever get it up bro!

What kind of performance gains have you guys seen from the header over stock? Is it really the advertised 10-15% horsepower gain? Not trying to highjack the thread, I need a new exhaust system on my 250ci. too and will also be making this decision soon.
