I have a 1969 1/2 maverick that I stumbled on and ended up saving from the scrapper , it has the 2 spoke steering wheel with horn ring, dash mounted ignition switch, 170 CID six with the infamous and I think rare semi-automatic 3 speed trans., 4 lug wheels and all of the other early Maverick identifiers. I would love to put this car in the hands of a collector as I think it is fairly rare. Dave Darden dardend@clarke.k12.ga.us
I have always heard about the semi automatic transmission but have not seen a car with it. Good job saving it from the scrapper hopefully someone will bring it back to its glory days. Some pictures would be an asset in selling it
http://mmb.maverick.to/media/1970-semi-automatic-transmission-indicator.5668/full?d=1253654666 Rare doesn't always mean valuable, likely no one wants a automatic you have to shift... Basically it's a C4 with manual valve body & probably no governor, a curiosity at best... Discontinued after 1970 due to poor sales...
I have only ever seen ONE Maverick with the Semi-Automatic....so it has to be super rare. I should have bought it.
The only semi-automatic trans I've ever seen was in an old VW bug. Basically a manual with no clutch pedal.
Seen one in the junkyard. I was going to get the dial off the column but forgot about it after removing other parts
