I have an '83 200 straight six out of a Fairmont Futura. It has a two sump oil pan that will not fit the Mav hitting the steering. This six has a big bell trans mount. Question is will an oil pan off of an older 200 fit my 200? I understand that the oil pickup is in the rear of the newer 200. Will an older oil pump pickup fit the newer oil pump? Every bolt on the newer six is metric compared to standard bolts on the older six. Is there another model of newer Ford that had a front sump 200 six compatible to the '83 model? One more thing, will an older 200 exhaust manifold fit my 200? Thanks to who ever can help.
I am not sure but I have a parts car with a 71 200 in it with a pan tube and prolly a dipstick that you would need. Curious... if its big bellhousing shouldn't it be a 250?
Use the 78 and older oil pan and pickup, the oil pumps are the same. As far as exhaust manifold...how old is old? If you get too old, say 60-62, the exhaust flange is smaller, 1-3/4" vs 2" and they used a flat gasket, not a donut gasket. Some where along '78 the catalytic converter bolted directly to the manifold
