Hi im Doug this is my first forum. I have recently came across my first maverick that was given to me by a friend...(wow pretty nice guy to just give away a car) and i have very little knowledge on rebuilding this 1970 maverick into a monster. I have recently pulled a 302 and 3gear tranny out of my 88 f 150 and since i have a budget for now until next year tax return i need help on figuring out WHICH REAR END DO I NEED TO BUY AND WHICH DRIVE SHAFT TO FIT THIS TRANNY?.........also purchased craigger wheels so the rear end bolts will have to be 5 lug...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE all help needed.....all names that helped contribute to this forum will be finely printed on paper and plastic framed and kept inside the maverick at all times to remember the people who helped build this machine from the ground up

    :Welcome:from Ocala,Florida.........
The rear out of a late 70's Granada or merc Monarch will work.. Also if you find one get the front disc brakes off it as well including the spindles... That will give you 5 lug on all four corners....

wow..thanks for the quick replies.. the tranny is an auto..also i guess i should've
mentioned.....i would like the rear end to be 2x rear wheel traction or positive traction
(chevy terminology SORRY) which vehicles would i need to look for and how would i definitely know that the rear end is a positive traction..1 last Question..(i dont think i want my rpm's to be very high going 60-70 mph down the freeway)...Can i just change the gear ratio in the rear end or would i have to get another tranny with more gears?

To Comet Fever: Is the yoke the 4 way (plus(+)symbol) or is it the piece it sits in...or
    is it both?

To mavgrab302: Im guessing a spindle is the piece where the wheel bearing fits on and
will have the bolts to put the lugnuts on?

To 71gold: not sure which transmission it had..it also was automatic w/6cyl

Also thanks to everyone else for the welcome..its very friendly around here
