    71 Mercury Comet
    Hi Guys,
I am over in Australia just picked up a nice 1971 mercury comet in good orginal condition.
My problem is nobody knows anything about these things on this side of the planet.
Hoping I could get the info I need to start doing some mods.
My car- 1971 comet LHD/302/auto DRUM brakes all round.
I would like to do a front and rear disc brake conversion and front coilover conversion to match.
I have being doing a bit of hunting around but cant get the info I require or need considering I will have to buy from the states and bring parts in. So I want to be confident everything will fit etc.
ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPREICATED.

    Cheers Matt

    Welcome!!

Assuming you want to keep it orig , the '68-'71 Fairlane, Torino, Falcon, Cyclone, Ranchero etc fits, as do '68-73 Mustang Cougar(all these are same brakes)... Spindle, bearing & tie rod pin size increased from '69 to '70 on all...

Most swappers use '75-80 Granada brakes that use different components than the Torino/Mustang... This used to be a cheap swap, but supply of those cars are almost gone...

Now days it's probably less expensive to go aftermarket and not swap spindles, excepting for center link, everything for a '70 Mustang will fit your Comet...
